ABOUT

VETS

A vet who deals with parrots needs a great deal of empathy, patience and of course a knowledge of avian illnesses - viruses, bacteria, fungi etc.

Someone who can deal with a feather plucking parrot, and one who is phobic.

Someone for whom handling a parrot - no matter the size - does it with confidence, causing as little added stress as possible.

Drawing blood and anaesthetising parrots are specialised procedures.

Yes - this IS a tall order !

Parrots are still wild animals (as opposed to cats and dogs) and panic incredibly easily !

The following are vets by area who are specialists in the avian field.
